My name is John Barlow. My passion is Wild Bird Photography.
I started bird watching when I was just 8 years old. I used to wander around Cockerham Bay near Lancaster from dawn until dusk in search of wild birds. Back then it was my wish to take photographs of my findings; only being held back by lack of funds. I chose to draw pictures, collect books and take notes to keep my own personal records of my much loved hobby.
As you can imagine over the years I developed a large knowledge of British Birds. As I got older; life, work and family took over; and my passion seemed for many years to take a back seat.
Now, in my 40's, my hectic life has eased and I see myself delving into my passion once more. I started off in July 2009 with Digiscoping equipment, not being totally happy with the quality of image. I then researched into more expensive equipment to achieve high quality photographs. I purchased a Canon Eos 7D Camera with a Canon 300mm F2.8 lens in January 2010.
I am now extremely pleased with my results but I am still constantly learning new skills and techniques. I decided to share my knowledge and photographs with others; which is where this web site and my presentations come in. I hope you enjoy my photographs.
